Crafted in partnership with Outdoor Chef Life, this light roast brings together two passions, adventure and coffee. Grown on our family farm in the mountains of Nicaragua and roasted fresh in California, this limited batch celebrates the connection between ocean and mountain, craft and community.

Each bag is a small piece of that journey, smooth, vibrant, and balanced with tasting notes of pomegranate, honey, and chocolate.

Why You’ll Love It

Single Origin – Grown on our family farm in Nueva Segovia— fully traceable and rooted in tradition.
Peak Ripeness Picking – Hand-picked cherries ensure a naturally sweet, balanced cup.
High Elevation Grown – At 1,200m, cooler temps bring out complexity and depth.
Washed Process – Clean and bright flavor with crisp acidity.
Roasted to Order – Roasted 1-3 days after you order to guarantee freshness.

A Note on the Collaboration

Only 250 bags created for this project. Each one ships with a limited-edition postcard capturing moments from the trip that inspired it.

Behind The Collaboration

Nicaraguan Breakfast

Before making the 2½-hour drive up to the farm, we gathered for a typical Nicaraguan breakfast with gallo pinto, eggs, cheese, and cream. And of course, we couldn’t leave out a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Beachfront Views

During our fishing trip, we stayed at a beachfront home that felt truly special. Just a short walk from the ocean, with an outdoor cooking area, it made us feel right at home.

Smiles for days

After a long morning out on the water, the boat was full. We caught more fish than we expected, but it was the laughter and good company that made the day unforgettable.

  • Rooted in People & Planet

We grow with care — planting trees, respecting the land, and creating jobs in our local community.

  • Hand-Harvested with Care

Every bean is picked by hand on our farm, processed with intention, and handled with pride.

  • Platform for Farmers

As we grow, we’ll bring other farmers onto Emense so you can discover new coffees and connect with their stories too.

  • You’re Fueling a Bigger Dream

Your support helps us restore our family farm and build a future for our children, our neighbors, and other farmers like us.

FAQ

What if I don’t like the coffee?

No stress, no hard feelings. If your first bag isn’t what you hoped for, we’ll refund it. We stand behind every roast.

How long does the coffee take to arrive?

We roast 2–3 days after your order and ship within 1–2 business days after roasting. U.S. orders typically arrive within 5–8 business days. You’ll get tracking as soon as it ships.

Is your coffee mold-free?

Yes — our coffee is specialty-grade and carefully processed to meet high quality standards. It’s roasted fresh and stored properly to ensure a clean, mold-free cup.

What grind size should I order?

Here’s a quick guide based on how you brew:

  • Whole Bean – best for freshness (grind just before brewing)

  • Coarse – for French press or cold brew

  • Medium – for drip machines or pour-over

  • Fine – for espresso or moka pot

Do you offer subscriptions or auto-ship?

Yes! We offer a subscription plan that gives you 5% off every order. It’s a simple way to stay stocked on fresh coffee without having to think about it. You can manage or cancel anytime. Not ready to subscribe? You can always reorder manually — we make it easy.

How to brew?

Chemex / Pour Over

  • Ratio: 1:16 (e.g. 25g of coffee to 400g of water)

  • Grind: Medium-coarse, similar to sea salt

  • Tip: Bloom the grounds with a small amount of hot water for 30 seconds, then pour the rest slowly in circles. Total brew time: 3.5 to 4 minutes.

French Press

  • Ratio: 1:15 (e.g. 30g of coffee to 450g of water)

  • Grind: Coarse, like breadcrumbs

Steps: Add coffee, pour in hot water, stir gently, and let steep for 4 minutes. Press slowly and serve.Note: Feel free to adjust the coffee-to-water ratio based on how strong you like your brew — these are great starting points!
